Pilgrimage Unites New Mexico Travelers To Chimayo Shrine
About 115 men and boys from across New Mexico walked 22 miles from Ranchos de Taos to Chimayo for vacations at the Santuario de Chimayo. The group, ages 9 to 14 years, faced blisters and sun, but shared unity, prayers, and support from Taos staff, communities, and Archbishop Robert Sanchez.

Vietnam Veterans Chapel memorialized with DAV gift pledge
U S Senator Pete Domenici praised veterans memory at a Valverde ceremony where the Disabled American Veterans pledged $100,000 over 10 years to sustain the Vietnam Veterans Peace and Brotherhood Chapel. The chapel, opened in 1971, houses a flame and rotating photos of 13 fallen servicemembers. The DAV seeks support to move the chapel into the National Park system.
