Red River Dedicates New Town Hall Facility

The $611,000 town hall was dedicated on Thursday June 1 ending the rental of municipal offices. Mayor Ted Calhoun and acting Mayor John Miller presided with Taos Mayor Phil Lovato and council members present. The building houses police fire public works offices and chamber offices with a multi purpose room for meetings. Funded by a 10 percent EDA grant under the Local Public Works program, ground broke last summer and completion occurred in December. Calhoun called the modern design a landmark shift for Red River toward a resort town image.
