Taos High School announces senior awards for the class of 1972. Estevan Vigil receives a scholarship to New Mexico Tech. Rebecca Saunders and Robertal Gonzales gain Wayland Baptist College scholarships. Michael DiSanti earns a scholarship to the University of New Mexico.

Rites held for D Garcia 77 in Ranchos de Taos

Funeral services for Mrs Domicinda Garcia 77 were held at Ranchos de Taos. Rosary services occurred May 21 and 22 at Garcia's St Martin's Chapel. Survived by husband Pascal Garcia sisters Flora Trujillo and Teresina Mondragon and brother Octaviana Santi stevan all of Ranchos de Taos. Pallbearers listed and honorary pallbearers named. Funeral arrangements by Garcia Funeral Home.

Maurice E. Johnson district director of Internal Revenue for New Mexico announced a program to ensure owners of large trucks tractors and buses comply with federal highway use tax laws. The effort compares lists of registered vehicle owners with highway use tax returns to verify filings and reporting. Tax collected supports interstate highway construction costs shared by New Mexico and other states. The tax generally applies to single unit trucks weighing 13 000 pounds or more.

Daniels en dorsed by Duran story mix up
