Incumbents Hold In Taos County Statehouse Races
In Taos County incumbent Carlos Cisneros won the Senate District 6 seat, defeating former senator C B Trujillo who conceded early Tuesday. Cisneros, 44, carried 57 percent of the total 7,865 votes statewide while Trujillo had 3,217. Cisneros attributed his win to his voting record and door to door campaigning. Trujillo will not seek another term, calling the race his last hurrah.

Taos District Attorney Sammy Pacheco won a broad primary victory on Tuesday June 2 retaining his seat for a new four year term and running unopposed in November. He led early in Taos County as absentee ballots counted and finished by 693 votes over the nearest challenger Fred Martinez with Union County by 28 votes and Colfax by 271.
