Sugar found around the fuel cap of a motor grader on the Honda Seco paving project along State Road 150. State Police suspect juvenile vandals amid broader roadwork opposition. no damage occurred as lines were flushed and fuel drained. The project began July 13 with completion expected the first week of August.
Taos County and the Eighth Judicial District appoint Orlando Quintana as first director of a pre prosecution diversion program for first offenders in nonviolent or unintentionally violent crimes. The program offers rehabilitation options with charges dropped on successful completion. Quintana said the goal is to shift plea bargaining to a rare exception and coordinate with social services and restitution where appropriate.
HRC and Stoudt discuss local moral standards in Taos as a social learning theory expert notes teachers’ influence. They argue there is no national morality standard and urge postponing ruling until the Court of Appeals decides, to avoid interagency disagreement.
