Lee pleads guilty to aggravated assault with telephone

Richard Lee, 37, received one year supervised probation after pleading guilty to aggravated assault with a telephone against Diane Bensen during an argument on December 18 last year. Judge Caldwell ordered 844 days probation and mandatory drug and alcohol treatment. Lee, a contract pilot for businessmen, faced charges rooted in an earlier dispute over bail.

Charge adds new count in jogger death case

Randall Arthur, 31, faces an additional charge after a Feb 10 vehicle incident that killed Robert Hanisee, 47, near his home. Eckstrom Resigns From Taos Chamber Position

Marsha B Eckstrom resigns from the Taos Chamber of Commerce effective end of August for personal reasons. She announced July 31 with about years of service including two and a half as Director. Eckstrom plans to move to Arkansas this year and said she enjoyed representing Taos and Taos County. Chamber vice-president Gammy Lopes of The Taos News lamented the loss of her strong leadership.

Woman Sues Pizza Hut Over Glass in Soft Drink

Pamela Martinez of Taos sues Pizza Hut and its parent company in District Court alleging negligent handling after a waiter served a pitcher with broken glass from the ice machine.
