Talpa man Albert J. Trujillo, 19, is in critical condition at Bernalillo County Medical Center after a July 18 crash when his car left Forest Service road beside Rio Chiquito, plunged 30 feet, and he was flown by helicopter to Albuquerque. Passenger Abner Lucero, 16, is at Holy Cross Hospital with a broken leg and facial injuries. police report no citations issued yet.

Don Oliver’s widow, Lillian Oliver, sues Ford and Harper Motor Company for more than 6 million dollars claiming the Ford EXP was uncrashworthy and caused his death. She seeks 4.5 million from Ford and 2.25 million from Harper, who sold the car in June 1981. Julian and Della Varog owned the car in a Sandoval County crash in August 1981. A Taos Pueblo man identified as Archuleta, 68, died in a jail cell after a dispatcher received a late night call at 9 20. Authorities say Archuleta was found unresponsive about 20 minutes after jail staff began attempts to revive him. A medical examiner’s report will determine the cause of death.
