Taos man indicted for rape of young relative in first degree case
Ramon Luis Sandoval 26 is indicted by a Taos grand jury on a first degree felony charge of criminal sexual penetration of a child under 13 and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He remains jailed on a $100,000 cash bond as police say the alleged abuse began years ago and involved a 6 year old boy. The case follows prior mental incompetency findings and multiple arrests dating back to 1987. An attorney says Sandoval may undergo renewed mental health evaluation before prosecution proceeds.

Chopper 4 crash lands while covering missing woman
A television helicopter from KOB TV made a hard landing near Horseshoe Lake on Wheeler Peak while pursuing a missing UNM police officer, Olga Valery. Rescue teams found Valery along a Wheeler Peak trail at 3:50 p.m. and she was taken to Holy Cross Hospital. pilot and photographer were shaken but uninjured.
