Taos Community Auditorium Shuts Down Amid Funding Shortfall
Taos artists formed the Taos Art Association in 1963 64 and built the Taos Community Auditorium on the 8 280 seat Stables site after converting the Arthur Mahiby home. Six months ago the board cut funding to the Stables Art Gallery citing health and safety concerns and lack of funds. The July 9 cinema series was canceled and the board announced steps to relocate groups with a task force and Maggie Considine assisting moving Missoula Children’s Theatre to Rio Grande Hall.
