Three youths halt large grass fire near Valle Bsonche
Helene McFarland reports that three local youths Shara Carter 14 David Chapman 11 and Brian Van Nevel 12 prevented a spreading fire in the Valle Bsonche area on Monday night by fighting it with dirt water and their feet until firefighters arrived. The boys acted after noticing smoke from fireworks set by two unidentified men and kept the blaze from reaching a nearby home about 100 yards away potentially saving four houses.
