French Baroque Concert Finishes Taos Workshop Week

A Friday night concert at the Hondo Lodge Ski Valley features Philidor Trio with Lucy Cross and Mary Springfels performing Rameau and Handel. Elizabeth Humes, Shelly Gruskin, and Edward Smith join as ensemble members. The event caps a first-time Taos Early Music workshop led by Irene Bloch, attracting 18 students from New Mexico and beyond.

Taos Ski Valley hosts Chalet Suisse run by Hans Amstein from Lucerne with his wife Rosmarie. The family, skiers themselves, moved from Arroyo Seco and opened Chalet Suisse last November offering continental dishes and Swiss desserts. Open daily except Tuesday from 1 a.m. to 8 p.m. with box lunches and hikes available.
