Priest pleads guilty to molesting 14 year old in Questa case
Lipinski, the former Questa parish priest, admitted on June 28 that on October 2, 1992 he gave alcohol to a 14 year old boy and performed oral sex. Under a plea deal he will get five years supervised probation and treatment for sexual offenders. He must pay counseling costs and may not work with minors until treatment is completed.

Church reacts to priest guilty plea in Santa Fe
The Archdiocese of Santa Fe responded quickly after former Questa parish priest Vincent Lipinski pled guilty to sexually molesting a 14 year old boy. Carson firewood collection resumes after Fish and Wildlife concurrence

Himes sues Taos County over back pay and reinstatement
Hospital project manager John Himes sues Taos County for about 14 000 claiming 2 777 77 monthly pay from Feb 1 to June 30 under an 18 month contract worth 50 000. He was fired March 17 after partial pay, seeks reinstatement and negotiations for full compensation to project completion. Past present and future at Pot Creek dig site in New Mexico
Volunteers in the Passport In Time program worked June 23 at the Pot Creek Cultural Site six miles south of Tapson on Fort Burgwin road. Holiday closings announced for Fourth of July weekend
Area banks and the town county and federal governments will close Monday July 5 to give employees time off for the Fourth of July weekend. The Taos News will be open all day Monday but close at 3 p.m. Friday July 2 to start the weekend. The Optimists fireworks show at Taos High School football field near 9 p.m. Sunday July 4 will be preceded by afternoon and evening activities.
