Molycorp mine in Questa gets temporary reprieve
Molycorp will delay a final decision on closing the Questa molybdenum mine until April 1. Workers face a 15 to 20 percent salary cut at end of January to keep 87 mill workers employed. The mill will shut for at least two months in March, with molybdenum prices at about 2.65 per pound due to market surplus.

Judge finds Romero guilty in county fistcuffs
County Commissioner Julian Romero was convicted in magistrate court of three counts of assault and battery and disorderly conduct after a fist fight at the county courthouse on September 10. The judge, Questa Magistrate Betty Gonzales, ruled Romero guilty of three petty misdemeanors each carrying up to six months in jail or a $500 fine or both. No sentence announced.
