Worker Dies At Molvcoro At Questa Mine
Luis Vigil of Las Vegas died at age 31 in a January 10 accident at the Molvcoro Questa mine mill when his pickup was struck by a dump truck carrying a 165000 pound load. Mauricio Romero escaped serious injury. Vigil’s body was taken to Las Vegas for burial. The mine cited the truck’s blind side as a cause.

School board approves new teacher and language program update
The board added Francis Quintana of Arroyo Hondo as a teacher while Gilbert Archuleta leads a school language program. Ninety-day investments for teachers' salaries were cut to 100000 with about 25000 in interest earned. An addition to Taos Elementary School proposing four classrooms and an all purpose room would cost about 30000, with only 20000 available and funding sought to continue. Construction hoped within three years.
