Pueblo teen found beaten to death on Taos Pueblo

Fifteen year old Robert Abeyta was found beaten near a creek on Taos Pueblo on January 7. FBI investigators say the death is an apparent homicide and may be linked to gang and alcohol activity. The investigation follows threats circulating in the village during the King's Day Feast period.

Marathon runner disappears in Rio Grande Gorge tragedy

Mary Helen Henke a 28 year old from Sunfish Lake Minnesota vanished while running along the rim of the Rio Grande Gorge on New Year’s Day. Police traced footprints and clothing scents but her trail vanished after four miles prompting a large volunteer search. Dozens of searchers from multiple towns joined the effort including Taos river rafting volunteers in treacherous winter conditions.

Ski Rio to suspend operations due to low snow

Ski Rio announced on Tuesday January 11 that it will suspend operations next week because there is not enough snow. Lift operations will stop Monday January 17 with season passes and lift tickets honored at Cuchara Mountain Resort. Taos Ski Valley reports improvement and opens Lift No 2 and back side terrain today.

Bomber flights head for Texas route chosen
