Ditch Gate Warning Issued By Talpa Community Leader

Questa Board Sets Hearing On Budget Overrun
Questa Board of Education will convene in Santa Fe at 10 a.m. January 23 for a special budget hearing in the chief of public school finance office. Superintendent Tito P. Martinez said the session is to address extra funds arising from interest on a bond issue, insurance money from last summer’s cafeteria destruction, and an emergency fund payment for gym roof repairs. The money belongs to Questa schools but cannot be budgeted without state approval. The emergency fund financed gym roof repairs on a 15 year old facility with ongoing leaks.

Thieves report a missing item from local school

Marines Finish Combat Course at Camp Pendleton
Marines Pvt Lydia A Trujillo and Pvt Michael Wiley of Taos completed four weeks of individual combat training at Camp Pendleton California. Over 200 hours included weapons and combat techniques from veterans, patrols, mine and booby trap removal, and use of standard infantry arms. They will receive at least four weeks of specialist training before assignment to permanent units and may attend technical schools if entering technical fields.
