Taos Pueblo names Gov James Lujan Sr Lt Gov Clyde Romero Sr and a full slate of fiscal and sheriff leaders for 2006 with WarChief Robert Espinosa and staff. Picuris Pueblo re elects Gov Richard Mermejo and Lt Gov Manuel Archuleta for a second year. Incoming admins include Sheriff Anthony Knitter and fiscal and war chief appointees. New Year baby Praxedes Gonzales welcomed in Taos
Praxedes Gonzales, the first Taos newborn of 2006, weighed 6 pounds 12 ounces and born at 7:26 a.m. January 1 at Holy Cross Hospital to Heather Lane and Jason Gonzales. The family received a hospital basket and Praxedes’ sister Moniqua adjusts to the new arrival as parents plan for two children. Praxedes went home January 3.
