NRA plans survival exercise at Raton New Outdoor Center
The NRA will open an Outdoor Center near Raton and run a survival leadership school January 11 to 17. Four six member teams including one all female and one primitive team will train in field conditions at 6500 to 8000 feet, using minimal gear. Rescue support comes from St. John’s College and Colorado Air National Guard with Aero-Monte conducting daily recon. Leaders include Bob Whitmore and George Keeney with development of the 38000 acre center set to begin next summer after NRA board approval.
