Taos Area Lights Contest Showcases Community Spirit
The Fifth Annual Christmas Lighting Contest drew entries from Questa and Taos area residents despite a flu epidemic causing cancellations. In residential and business divisions, prizes were awarded to Ramon Santistevan and the Penasco Theatre, with notable displays by Armando Vigil, Connie Montoya, Blue Door Gallery, and others. Judges praised the craftsmanship as a vivid homage to the season.

Quintana Named To Honor Group At NMSU Ceremony
David Quintana of Taos was initiated into New Mexico State University's Sigma Chi Rho chapter of Chi Epsilon national civil engineering honor. He joined 19 other pledges in a fall class and was initiated before a banquet Sunday December 8 with Frank Bromilow as featured speaker. Quintana, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cris D. Quintana, is a senior civil engineering major and a 1965 Taos High School graduate.
