Red River DA denies political favor in rape dismissal
Red River Marshal Jerry Hogrefe disputed that DA Donald Gallegos dismissed a February 2006 rape case to aid a defense attorney who is a state senator. He said the case was high profile and important to the victim and family, and claimed he was not consulted about the dismissal. The Taos grand jury had indicted Carrillo on sex and tampering charges, tied to a February 25 2006 incident involving a visiting out of area victim.
