Missing Taos man Rory DiPalma still unlocated
New Mexico State Police seek information on Rory DiPalma 25 missing since about 10 pm Wednesday from Taos. He was to join friends after a San Geronimo Lodge party and was last seen wearing cowboy style clothing. His black 1999 Infinity QX4 SUV with New Mexico plate FEP 595 and New Jersey inspection sticker is also missing. Police urge tips to Taos 505-758-1466 or Espanola 505-753-2277.

Bustos gets 44 year term for aggravated battery and false imprisonment

Smoke creates trailer fire scare near Taos
A neighbor reported smoke from a trailer in the Lower Las Colonias area west of Blueberry Hill Road. Taos Volunteer Fire Department sent four trucks and about 16 to 17 volunteers, searching from multiple directions with tanker trucks due to no local water sources. Fire Chief Jim Fambro noted the smoke could mimic a trailer fire and praised the department for its cautious response, despite an estimated cost of about $600 per responding unit.

Poisoning prank suspect released on monitor and house arrest
Taos High School student John Philabaum, 15, is ordered to electronic monitoring and house arrest except for school and church after a detention hearing. Judge Peggy Nelson said the case involves a serious poisoning incident in which copper sulfate was given to 25 students on December 17. the charges include 13 counts of felony child abuse.
