Taos teen and mother sue Taos police over 2000 arrest
Taos County man Adam Gonzales and his mother Mary Phillippi-Abeyta filed a federal suit Oct 19 in Albuquerque naming Taos Police officer David Maggio Police Chief Neil Curran and the Town of Taos. They allege excessive force after a Sept 28 near Taos High School when Gonzales 16 resisted arrest and was sprayed with pepper spray. The suit seeks punitive damages and fees.

A Taos officer logged a narcotics offense after a Taos High School report of a female juvenile in possession of marijuana.
