Fire Threatens Taos Artist Hennings Home
Taos volunteer firefighters saved the 54 year old home of E. Martin Hennings, Taos founding artist, from major destruction on Friday. A storage room fire shot 40 feet into the air, causing an estimated 30000 dollars in damage with smoke and heat damage upstairs and water damage downstairs. Fire marshal Jim Fambro cited potential electrical causes, noting a four outlet plug and extension cord in the storage room. The residence on Dolan and Raton roads is owned by Russell and Susan Powell. The state lab will analyze materials to determine the exact cause.

Taos Woman Found Dead After Car Wreck
The body of 27 year old Deborah Berman was found in her 1984 Ford LTD wreck 17 miles south of Taos on SR 68. Police say she veered off the road, overcorrected, and struck rocks in an arroyo. Autopsy cites multiple injuries with death shortly after the crash.

Memorial service honors Labit amid car crash death
