Taos remembers Alfred Hobbs a globe trotter in Taos
Alfred Scales Hobbs, 84, longtime Taos resident and colorful raconteur, died Friday August 20. An archaeologist by training he circumnavigated the globe at least six times and his life included a six month solo backpacking trip to the Amazon, South Africa and Yemen. Survived by son Niels-Viggo Hobbs and others, a public memorial is set for August 28 at the Anglada Building in Taos with a potluck to follow and a film in production about his adventures. Contributions to the film post production costs are welcome.
