Taos Sports Mix Heats Up Finals At Taos Middle School Field

The Taos Softball finals cap a week of community play featuring La Cocina Gal Sears champs against C B Trujillo's squad in a best two of three at 6 pm. Speedballs and Trujillo vie for finals berths after wins over Boat Leg Moon and Coast Guard. Local figures and residents mix with players as plans for upcoming events at Chalet Suisse, El Patio, El Sol de Taos, and Herb's Lounge unfold.

Good Times Vito y Sauza at El Patio and Taos Music Mix

Good times Vito y Sauza, a regular Herb's band, plays boogie and Spanish tunes from 9 p.m. to 1 30 a.m. Admission is $1.50 to Becky’s New Mexico State Fair fundraiser. El Patio near the Plaza hosts New Sticks n Bones with Nick Bret and Marco for Friday and Saturday dancing August 27 28. Sunday August 20 features a classical jam led by Noel Farrand Dorothy Ketler and John and Kathye with Kathye back from Denver studio work. Bach to Mozart punctuate the program. The Country Kitchen offers home style dinners 5 9 p.m. daily except Mondays with Ed and Billye Fagerquist. Alan Wells leaves E Patio for Portland State to resume art studies, leaving a note on publicity versus public image.

Fund Established for Natalie Mondragon at Dona Luz Restaurant

A trust fund has been started by employees and friends of La Dona Luz to aid Natalie Mondragon after the death of her mother, a Dona Luz waitress. Contributions are being accepted by Frank Cruz at First State Bank.

New Hacienda Taos Country Inn Adorns Taos Valley

Perched on Rio Hondo canyon Hacienda de San Roberto offers a quiet country inn with a new interior, expanded dining and lounge, private room for groups, a terrace and pool, locally sourced menu, homemade bread, Paella de Valencia on Fridays, and reservations requested. Owners Norman Seim and family with Marcia Kinnerly host, staff cited as hosts, with art, Navajo rugs, and sunset views over the valley.
