Taos Mayor shifts Mother's Day concert amid county feud
Taos Mayor Darren Cordova says he will move the annual Mother's Day concert from Taos after a dispute with Taos County Commissioners. He claims vindictive conduct and cites a $450 lodger’s tax cut and a state AG opinion request on funding. The two-day event draws thousands at Filemén Sanchez park, owned by the county. Meanwhile, Taos plans to launch a county dispatch center with over $1 million in funding, and the town aims to have its Regional Command Center operating by month’s end.
