Weekend wreck kills Dixon couple owners of Salon Co. de Taos
A husband and wife business team, Darlene and Phillip Brown, were killed Saturday when their car was struck by a pickup driven by Irene Packard after investigators believe Packard fell asleep. The four car wreck occurred on State Road 68 near Taos. Darlene died at the scene, Phillip died at Holy Cross Hospital. The Browns operated Salon Co. de Taos on Siler Road. Phillip was a hair stylist and Darlene did manicures. The accident remains under investigation by New Mexico State Police.

12 year old third victim in bloody weekend crash
A fatal car wreck north of Velarde claimed the life of 12 year old Crystal Sandoval of Pefiasco on Sunday morning August 15. State Police Lt Oscar Gonzalez said she was pronounced dead at the scene after the vehicle she rode in crossed left of center and struck another vehicle at 7 30 am. She was wearing her seat belt.
