In Taos during its 350th Birthday year parades add local color. A Sunday morning display featured a dozen vintage automobiles around the Plaza, followed by miniature wagon trains touring the area on subsequent days. The wagons traced an earlier era as Roy Knapp’s miniature train led a journey along the Santa Fe corridor, with a final circle at Kit Carson Park.
The Gearse Waates of Butler Pay and Mrs. Charl Reynolds Sr. with her daughters Barbara of Cleveland Ohio and Susie drove Mrs Reynolds and her young sons back to Taos after a visit at the Wagle home last week.
Witnesses differ on the timing of the gunfire after two men were ejected from a Ranchos de Taos bar. County commissions approve transferring ownership of the Questa dump from Taos County to Questa and authorize an Equa Lease contract for eight years. Purchases include an Addressograph machine for 5620.45 and a Graphotype for 2164.10 with total payments around 3692 at about 4.25 percent interest. Chair Martinez aims to lessen the burden by shifting costs and including platemaking with the addressograph in the agreement. Payments structure details 132 monthly for 60 months and 7 monthly for 36 months, with platemaking work currently sent to Santa Fe.
Mayor Jesse Vigil said ten years ago the Republican administration contacted the State Highway Dept about a surplus for Civic Center but it had not arrived yet.
