Plains lines gain approval for two power routes

Stranded Fisherman Rescued From Rio Grande Gorge
Ten members of the Taos Search and Rescue team spent the night assisting Holly Haynes 87 of Jefferson Texas after a July 30 injury while fishing and tubing in the Rio Grande Gorge near the John Dunn Bridge. Rescue coordinators said hypothermia and fatigue worsened the shoulder injury. Haynes and companion Carl Harman were stranded until 1:30 a.m. Tuesday when ferried across the river and warmed by a fire on the east bank before walking out with rescuers at about 5 a.m. He declined further medical aid.

Curling iron starts fire in bedroom blaze

County withholds $500 funding from church soup kitchen
