Taos County indicted county commission chairman David Fernandez faces three felonies embezzlement over 250 dollars bribery of an officer and fraudulent use of a credit card with a potential 4.5 year sentence and 15000 dollar fine He calls the charges crap and says he is confident of proving his innocence at trial He says resignation was one of many options but would not be for press or political enemies and accuses the investigation of political motivation The case follows a December arrest for DWI and an $456 per diem advance that Fernandez cashed but did not use for a Washington trip later repaid after a reporter inquiry
