Taos police vow to continue selective traffic ticketing program
Taos police chief Neil Curran told the town council on April 4 that the department will keep its selective traffic enforcement to crack down on violators including uninsured motorists. He cited an estimate that 48 percent of drivers in Taos city limits lack insurance and noted radar-trained officers will deploy along busy streets. The department plans a second season for bicycle patrol starting May 1 and training for two more bike officers to boost daytime and evening coverage through October.
