District Attorney weighing charges in Pacheco shooting death
District Attorney Margaret Lamb on April 10 said she has not decided whether to file a tougher charge in Moises Pacheco's shooting death. Pacheco died April 4 after days in critical condition at Holy Cross Hospital and Albuquerque Veteran's Hospital. His estranged wife Rose faces aggravated battery charges and is free on an $800 cash bond. Lamb termed the case pending for further determination and declined comment to avoid ethics issues. A Des Montes youth, John Herrera, 17, remained in good condition after a April 7 motorcycle crash on State Road 150 near the Tennis Ranch of Taos. He collided with a backhoe, and a passenger, Mario Madrid, 16, was treated and released. Herrera was cited for riding without a helmet and careless driving.
