Trout Planting From State Agency Reports
The Department of Game and Fish planted 256,775 rainbow trout weighing 3,390 pounds last week. About 10,682 trout reached 8 inches or more and were released into Clayton, Meiaffey, Top of the World and Estancia Lakes, Mimbres, Tularosa and middle Pecos Rivers, Fajique, Rain and Gallinas Creeks. The Fish and Wildlife Service added 3,495 rainbows of 9 inches into Hidden and Powers Dam Lakes and into the Rio Grande below Elephant Butte Dam.

Robert Wayne Kirkpatrick known in Taos and northern parts of the state died last week in Alamosa and was buried there Thursday afternoon. He was part of a pioneer Kirkpatrick family and lived in Ojo Caliente. A St John’s Military School graduate, he attended Jado University in Boulder and joined Chi Phi fraternity, with services held at the Ep Church on Thursday for Agnes Kirkpatrick Ojo Caliente a cousin Kirkpatrick of Denver Mey Kirkpatrick of Walsenburg and other cousins from Denver eblo and Walsenburg.
