Moynihan Romero and Archuleta report approval below and discuss requests for mill per kilowatt hour rate for all electric schools.
March 24 motion seeks bond terms for Noble admitted to heat under court conditions. Noble has been held without bail since Feb 15 after Taos police found Tloisa Noble dead in the couple’s home following a call from Olivia Di Mambro.
Three Penasco area youths Thomas Cinoboli Estevan Gonzales and Leroy Pacheco were found juvenile delinquents after a hearing before Dist. Judge C R McIntosh. Cimbola was detained for psychiatric treatment at Albuquerque Detention Home while Gonzales and Pacheco received conditional suspended sentences to the New Mexico Boy's School at Springer with parental supervision and future probation terms.
Julian Sandoval, 80, of Ranchos de Taos, died at Holy Cross Hospital on March 27. Funeral services were held March 30 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, with Rev. Manuel Alvarez officiating. Burial followed at Nazarene Cemetery. Pallbearers: Charlie Hammer, Frank Hammer, Sam Hammer, George Hammer, Frank Selph, Robert Martinez. Eulogist: Melitoni Struck. Survivors include widow Delia. sons Julian Jr and Joe, Ranchos de Taos. Orlando, Albuquerque. Isidro, Los Angeles. Ernesto, Denver. daughters Laurina, Carolina, Creslina, Rosita, all of Ranchos de Taos. brother Vincente, Ranchos de Taos. five grandchildren.
Taos Ski Valley reported about a foot of new powder from the Sunday storm. Nearly 50 ski instructors were at certification tests on Monday, with TSV secretary Linda Loch noting ongoing snowfall and a shift from bikinis to wool clothing. Several Rocky Mountain Division pros joined instructors from the Southwestern states for certification examinations.
Frank L Kellogg and executives led a Taos dedication for Maycorps expanded Questa operation. John Petty credited workers and tailings cooperation, noting tailings disposal challenges. Local leaders including Jack Brandenburg of First State Bank praised economic impact alongside Rio Grande Gorge Bridge and ski-area growth. In 1939 Montoya served as head checker with the Bureau of Revenue. He was self employed 1947 to 1949, then a Taos school custodian. From 1952 to 1960 he was deputy county clerk and deputy county treasurer. In 1962 he started the Taos County Bonded Abstractor firm with his eldest son Robert. He and wife Angela have six children, three daughters and three sons.
