Local Masons Honor Two Oldest Members At Banquet
Lifetime memberships were awarded to Edward William Fonvielle and Benjamin Franklin Young of Tabor Lodge No. 563 A F and A M at the lodge's annual banquet honoring the local Eastern Star chapter. Both men could not attend. Young's son Erskine accepted his award, and H D Stevens accepted Fonvielle's. The two oldest members, in 57 years of lodge history, mark a landmark for the organization. Fonvielle, born about 1884 in Wayne County, joined Masons in 1914 and served in key roles before joining Tabor Lodge in 1915. Young, born 1900 in Scottsboro, Ala., joined in 1921 and was active since. The master of Tabor Lodge praised their decades of service.

Youth Injured Leaving Bus On State Line
An eight year old boy from Ta bor City was struck by a car while alighting a school bus near Highway 410 on the State Line south of Tabor City. David Earl Fipps sustained an eight leg injuries plus cuts and bruises and remained in satisfactory condition at Loris Community Hospital. The driver, Rebecca Fowler, 70, of Delco and Tabor City, was identified by authorities as involved in the incident last Wednesday afternoon around 3 35 p m. The bus from Green iat aa the School was in motion as the accident occurred. Details and charges pending.
