Cancer Workers To Hear Director At Columbus County Unit Meeting
Dr Mra Donald Sine executive director of the American Cancer Society North Carolina Division will address the Columbus County Cancer Society at its fall meeting on November 21 at 7:00 pm at the County Health Center in Charborough. Mrs Stone, longtime leader of the Taeth Corotipa unit, joined from Sandene, California after 13 years as executive director there, a Florida State College for Women graduate with a broad career in personnel management industry relations health and education. Black, president of the county society, was elected to the North Carolina Division board in Raleigh. Members from Columbus County include Mrs Blick Leslie How and Carl Meares, with Leslie Row announcing special achievement awards for outstanding workers. The county elects directors for the Columbus County Cancer Society at Tale City and lists numerous members across towns. At the October meeting Yances Thumpenn was elected recording secretary. Nominating committee members are J. Mant Leslie Row and Mrs Graham Watton. Crusade chairman Leste Ow reported the 1963 68 drive reached half the $5000 goal.
