Mrs. Freddie Blake Barefoot, 78, prominent Hailsboro resident and matriarch of a large family, died Wednesday at 4 30 PM at her home. Funeral Thursday at Hallsboro Baptist Church with Rev. Turner. burial in Flynn Cemetery. Survived by three sons and seven daughters, 26 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.

Gussie Long Smith, 51, of Tabor City route three died in Columbus County hospital Tuesday afternoon. Funeral was held Wednesday at Dulah Baptist Church with Rev. Oscar Hardwicking. Burial followed in the community cemetery. She was survived by seven sons, one daughter, six brothers, and five sisters, with family members listed.
White Motor Sales has been appointed Westinghouse franchise dealer for Tabor City and will handle the full Westinghouse electrical line. The firm will also carry refrigerators washing machines deep freezers and radios.

Simpson Calvin Fields 89, retired businessman and farmer, died Thursday night at 11 at his son Alex Fields home near Fair Bluff. Funeral Sunday at Boardman Baptist Church with Rev. A. P. Stevens and Rev. Gaston Hester officiating. burial in Boardman cemetery. Survived by four sons and daughters including Alex, Elery, Bradley, Marvin, and two daughters.
Mrs R M Garrell Jr and her daughter Mary Ann spend the week in Fayetteville visiting Mrs Garrells parents Mr and Mrs Curtis Jones.
