Two murders reported in Columbus County over the weekend. Nobles, Wilbert James 33, of China Grove, died at Columbe County Hospital from a bullet wound after a fight over a girl. Campbell Berkley 23, of West Creek area, died at 7 45 a m at the hospital after a shooting tied to a confrontation with McKay. Campbell was held on murder charges. McKoy Milton 19 surrendered and admitted firing the fatal shot as Campbell fled. Sheriff J R Pridgen’s office reported the incidents and ongoing investigation.
