Jaycees Name Wright Man Of The Year In Tabor City
The Tabor City Jaycees named Willard Wright Man Of The Year for his leadership as town commissioner and civic work. The award recognizes Wright’s drive chairmanship for Roy Stouts and Red Cross drives, plus service on Civitan and Booster clubs and as a Boy Scouts supporter. Wright, 38, teaches at Tabor City Baptist Church and is a Wake Forest College alumnus married to Alice Shelley with two sons. Young Farmers Club Builds Notable Service Record
The Tabor City Young Farmers Club formed about a year ago by Free Lal and Sam Jackson has grown into the area’s largest with five active members. Monthly meetings at the Agriculture Building cover tobacco diseases and varieties, fertilizers, irrigation, breeding, sucker control, corn production, livestock health, and other farm topics. Club demonstrations on chemical sucker control and irrigation illustrate practical farming solutions. Officers include Anie Mollett, vice president. Murac Fowler, treasurer. Austen Wright, secretary.

Judge Mallard Plans Primary Filing For Reelection
