The XXX Special Heraway wins the second division by six lengths at the Novice Juvenile Stakes. Pre-race chatter from Sportsman claimed the filly would impress, and Heraway’s preparation story is teased as the mystery behind the victory.
ET Slip won the first division of the Juvenile at Kenso with McCarten guiding Let Slip, narrowly beating Torch and Robin Hood. Heraway dominated a metropolitan trial, leading by several lengths and prompting plans for Gimcrack hopes before stud book rules blocked her. Brown Oak from New Zealand and Riga, formerly with the AJC, also ran, with Riga finishing strong before tiring.
