Needlework Guild exhibition supports Swarthmore branch
Swarthmore Needlework Guild's Swarth ore Branch held a Wednesday November 17 exhibition at the Woman's Club House. Total donations reached 1034 garments including 100 from the Junior Club. The effort aids Babies' Hospital M E Conness Home Volunteers of America and other charities. Receipts totaled 140 with 600 from a December 5 card party.

Good Detective Work Exposes Larceny by Pennington
Joseph Pennington a colored man formerly employed at the Mary Lyon School was charged with stealing two overcoats a suit of clothing two pairs of shoes and a suitcase belonging to Percy Watters and John A. Duvilan employees of the school. He boarded a car to Media the same evening and was captured in Philadelphia four hours later. Bail set at six hundred dollars not posted. he remains in Media jail as search continues for stolen goods said to have been disposed of before arrest.
