Otto S Wittkorn Dies Suddenly on Train to Philadelphia
Otto S Wittkorn former Swarthmoore resident died January 6 on a train en route to Philadelphia from Beverly New Jersey. He served as an early trustee of the Presbyterian Church and borough treasurer for years. He was 64, survived by his widow two sons Thomas H Wittkorn O Olan Wittkorn and three grandchildren. Burial was at Beverly.

Stolen automobile found near Swarthmore marsh
On Saturday evening January a car reported stolen was found abandoned in the marsh near the trestle below Strath Haven Inn. Chief Hayward with two Swarthmore Fire Association members searched the area and located the vehicle hidden by bushes.
