Interesting Educational Meetings at Penn Week

A program for Schoolmen's Week at the University of Pennsylvania runs April 7 to 9 with local participants Dr. Hlarlan Updegraff as General Committee chair and Dr. Arthur J. Jones guiding secondary school conferences. Friday and Saturday feature vocational guidance tests and analytic diagnosis in psychology, while a Swarthmore Penn baseball game is slated for Saturday afternoon.

Miss Anna Garrett Disappearance Stirs Swarthmore Borough

Sensational case ties to Miss Anna Garrett a respected Swarthmore resident. Daughter of the late William Garrett and niece of Sylvester Garrett. She vanished after taking a Media car to consult a banker about investments, after alighting at State street Media. Firefighters and volunteers searched on Saturday as authorities investigated leads.

Home and School Association Meeting Promises School Progress Demonstration

The upcoming Home and School Association meeting will be held at the Woman's Club House on Monday evening April 11 at 8 o'clock. Superintendent H Chalmers Stuart and teachers arrange the event to showcase pupil work and discuss vital school questions. Pupils from various grades will demonstrate progress and explain study plans along with vocal music demonstrations.

Delaware County Juniors Bazaar Promotes Occupational Therapy Scholarships

The Delaware County Juniors Bazaar organized by the State Federation of Pennsylvania Women will be held at Lansdowne on April 15 1921. Proceeds fund scholarships for the School of Occupational Therapy and support therapy for men and women with war related injuries and disabilities through planned work and exercise.

Woman's Club Election Slated For April Votes Cast In Person

Ballots for a two year term are available to all members for in person voting on Monday April 11 with polls from 10 to 12 and 2 to 4 at the club house. Mail ballots are not accepted. Results announced at the April 12 meeting along with address by Mr James Collins Jones on The Federal Government. An April 26 open meeting invites all interested.

New Studio Established for Chautauqua Association

Borough Hall auditorium is rented to the Chautauqua Association which will use the space as a studio for auditions and rehearsals. The Walnut Lane offices remain in use and Burt McKinnie, famed tenor, leads the studio and directs talent tryouts for the Chautauqua platform.

W D Lewis Addresses Swarthmore Audience

Monday evening March 28 W D Lewis assistant state superintendent of education spoke to an appreciative audience at the club house on proposed changes in the high school course. He noted rising attendance over twenty years and argued curricula must suit broader population including foreigners and majority non college bound students.
