A Footscray Football Club reform gathering at Trene Hall drew about fifty members. Organizers reported 1000 names from a three week canvass supporting reform and potential new candidates to contest December elections. A sub committee was formed to interview leaders to stand as candidates in two weeks at the same hall.
Attendance at the opening ceremony included the President Mrs Johnston and Mary Johnston who welcomed attendees. Shire President Dr Idham and A A Alley of the V B A praised the club's enthusiasm and hoped for a successful season with strong play and finances.
