Miss Australia pageant raises nearly 1200 pounds
At the final Miss Australia Committees meeting it was disclosed that £1195 had been raised by three committees. Miss Leckie won the 10 guineas donated by Dr. Pennell for the committee raising the largest sum. Central committee contributed over £600, with each candidate’s committee credited £204 8 10 from that fund. Funds will aid the local hospital and kindergartens.
