The Albion Mothers' Club of the Alhior State School held its final event of the year, drawing about 50 attendees who enjoyed a well organized program. Mrs K Mounsey presided with Mrs S McBrin secretary, while Miss Linda Elise Blackburn and others wore striking gowns. Markham's orchestra supplied the music as guests admired the varied dresses.

Robbery at Sunshine Grocery in Hampshire Road

The death occurred on Wednesday at the Homeopathic Hospital of Mrs Brooks who resided for many years at King Edward Avenue. The family left Sunshine about two years ago. Mrs Brooke was a sister of My Clacky Legge of Adelaide Street.

Sunshine Wins G Grade Women’s Hockey Final Unbeaten
Sunshine defeated Nettlefolds one nil at Middle Park to clinch the premiership and become the only undefeated team across all women’s hockey grades. M Stewart scored the sole goal as Sunshine held the lead through a second half marked by anxious play. Miss N Fisher of Nettlefolds starred in defense and attack. A premiership dance will follow in the Town Hall on November 18.
