Bottle Thrower Fined After Deer Park Affray Case

In Sunshine court, Robert Burl John Godwin faced common assault charges arising from a Deer Park Saturday affray. Witnesses testified a bottle struck James Chapman at Deer Park. Godwin claimed he grabbed the bottle from Humphries. The court recorded a conviction with a 5 pound fine and 2 shillings 1 3 pence costs, plus one month imprisonment in default.

Sunshine Relic Vanishes From Historic Civic Site

The last relic of Sunshine's former civic centre vanished last week from the site now occupied by school buildings and Grounds. Once a post office and residence facing Hampshire Road, the building was repurposed over the years including a grocery shop office and a fire brigade base with a bell tower that was a local landmark. The era included a Church of England building later moved away and the old school not occupying the present new site.

Tramways Board Prepares Buses for Sun Shine to Footscray

Boys' Club Building Started for Sunne Baptist Clubroom

Sunshine Ladies Bowling Club Opens With Visitor Attendance

The Sunshine Ladies Bowling Club opened with crowded attendance from over fifty ladies and guests including visitors from Bacchus Marsh and Werribee. Mrs Andrawartha presided as president, bouquets were presented to her and Mesdames Forbes and Winter, and the secretary Mrs Winter spoke in welcome. Winners included Mrs C Grant for the bridge trophy and Mrs W A Thomson for the lowest prize, with Mrs Owens steering the winning bowling team and Mrs McRae of Werribee taking the spider competition.
