At a Pogrs monthly gathering councillors debated the municipal quarry on Duke Street. Dr Desiter outlined retention and future use, opposing plans to sell the quarry for a park or other projects while noting metal needs for the shire.
Around the Town reports a union meeting of pupils and teachers at Lunatine State School to form a day-trendship association. Cr Jd Re Parsone and Mr it Ke McKenzie are organizing, inviting ex teachers to attend the inaugural session. The Sunshine court matron faces a nonpayment penalty case over 4H funds, with a £25 first payment due in seven days. A Withers Street arrest notes a drunken disorderly offense. Miss Bevan, headmistress of the Sunshine Technical School, returns from a 16 month world tour to inspire students with global school customs. In Sunshine court, Robert Burl John Godwin faced common assault charges arising from a Deer Park Saturday affray. Witnesses testified a bottle struck James Chapman at Deer Park. Godwin claimed he grabbed the bottle from Humphries. The court recorded a conviction with a 5 pound fine and 2 shillings 1 3 pence costs, plus one month imprisonment in default.
The last relic of Sunshine's former civic centre vanished last week from the site now occupied by school buildings and Grounds. Once a post office and residence facing Hampshire Road, the building was repurposed over the years including a grocery shop office and a fire brigade base with a bell tower that was a local landmark. The era included a Church of England building later moved away and the old school not occupying the present new site.
Braybrookshire council learned on Monday night that the Tramways Board plans to have buses ready for the Sunshine to Footscray route in November. The letter said several buses are under preparation for suburban service and will be put into operation as soon as roadworthy.
A start was made this week on the erection of a Sunne Baptist Boys' Clubroom. The planned building will be 45 4 ft high and face Ridley Street. Since the club’s first meeting in June, a fund of 50 pounds has been raised with hopes that the extra facilities will aid future activities.

Mrs Andrawartha presided as president, bouquets were presented to her and Mesdames Forbes and Winter, and the secretary Mrs Winter spoke in welcome. Winners included Mrs C Grant for the bridge trophy and Mrs W A Thomson for the lowest prize, with Mrs Owens steering the winning bowling team and Mrs McRae of Werribee taking the spider competition.
