H Betteson, head teacher of nahin tale School, reported deliberate uprooting and damage to recently planted trees on the school grounds. The council funded planting and promised a £1 reward for information leading to the culprits.

W G Anderson of Hampshire Road charged with keeping his shop open after 7 p.m. on August 12 to sell cigarettes. Robert G Ford testified buying a packet at 8:25 p.m. and noting the shop should close at 7. The defendant claimed he was asked to oblige by selling cigarettes. verdict yet unclear. Age of 10 shillings imposed. H y Spriggs of Hampshire Reagan also charged regarding after 7 p.m. sales.

In Ex xendon Court this week C Stebbings and J Harris of St Albans faced charges of stealing vegetables from Milburn's paddocks after a midnight pursuit by a cricket club member. Stebbings admits prior convictions and received a sentence. Harris was also convicted.
