Special correspondent reports a lively Labor World gathering with speeches by Acting Prime Minister Fornes and Labor figures. The event included a balance of political discussion on industrial and wage issues and celebrations of club achievements.
A social golf day featured a 12 hole stroke play won by Miss J Thompson for visitors while Mrs Chala Way led members in prizes. Whist winners were Meldanmies Hob inson and Murdoch. Mrs George Bult Jnr became president. retiring president Mrs Deed and Hon Secretary were honored. afternoon tea praised.
Margaret Amelia Aberline died at age 75 at her home on Kororoit Street Sunshine on Saturday. She was born at Neilambete, daughter of Mr and Mrs Vauimes Aberline. Funeral held Tuesday at Nelson Chapel Footscray with interment in Footscray Cemetery officiated by Rev W Stephens. Floral tributes noted.
Mr Henry George Sudweeks died at his home in Ravenhall 81 Sunshine on April 30 after 20 years in the area. A widow and six children mourn him. Funeral held Wednesday from the home to Footscray Cemetery with Rural tributes. Rev W Evans conducted services. Nelson Bros were funeral directors.
Miss Ann McKenzie aged years passed away on the 28th of April in Buninyong. She was the aunt of Mr. E. J. McKenzie of 15 Gundah Street Sunshine. Funeral services were held Tuesday with interment in the family grave at Fawkner Cemetery officiated by Rev. H. P. Martin. Nelson Bros directed arrangements.
A Monday night meeting at Shire Hall formed a ladies committee of the Sun shine Band to assist with new uniforms. Officers include President Mrs A bodson, Vice President Mrs T Ellsworth, Secretary Mrs Ko Mifxormie, and Treasurer William Jewett Ellingsen, Eulenetoe. Next meeting is Monday May ct mm at the Shire Hall.
A notice invites members of P.G.F NEWS Girls and Toe VLR mens to attend the Crass Writ Party on Tuesday evening in May. An appeal calls for participation by nearby churchgoers and local church communities.
