Coria Liberal Candidate Selected For Federal Election

Dr. Frederick Wilton Wallace has been endorsed by the Coria Liberal preselection convention held at Geelong West Kiln Exchange. Delegates from all branches supported his unanimous nomination for the forthcoming Federal election. Wallace, born in Orange NSW and educated at Bourke Street School and Knox College, later studied medicine at Sydney University and earned honours. He has long served Geelong through the Omem Te Infectious Diseases Hospital and the Geelong Old Folks Home, and has held roles with the Geelong and District Soldiers Welfare Committees and War Funds Board. His career includes travel in America Europe and the Far East and a Mayo Clinic post graduate course.

Band News Euchre Fund Drive Planned at Sunshine Park

The ladies' committee will canvass door to door for the new uniform fund and host a euchre party on May 24 at 8 p.m. in Sunshine Park hand room. Local Harvester Works Veterans Retire From Service

During the last fortnight two McKay Harvester Works employees near Sunshine have retired after long service. Edward Nicholls born 1874 joined in 1912 with four years continuous service as gin assembler and later foreman. Gee Wild born 1877 started earlier. total over 11 years in the foundry as a moulder. Both men were warmly farewelled by workmates and the firm.

New Footscray Hospital Planned With 204 Beds
